Thanksgiving for the Ministry of Canon John Speers

Sunday, June 6th, 2010

Canon John Speers was thanked for his Ministry to St. Margaret's.

Prayer of Thanksgiving for Ministry of Canon John Speers

Dear friends, we are the body of Christ, and we all share Christ's ministry. We give thanks for the unique way Canon Speers has been part of this community over the years. He has indeed served us and has served with us as a leader and a colleague. We rejoice in his time with us, and pray God's continued blessing on his life and ministry.

Gracious God, Lord of time and space, you are present in all things and to all people. Make known your presence to your servant John as he goes from here to the ministry opportunities you have ordained for him. Help us to remember that we are always united to one another in service and love, made known to us in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Officiant: Elizabeth, I commission you as an Honorary Assistant in this community of St. Margaret's and welcome you as a leader in our midst.

Let Us Pray. Almighty God, look with favour upon Elizabeth. Grant her courage, patience, and vision; and strengthen us all in our Christian vocation of witness to the world and of service to others; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
