Obituary for Sidney James Maddock (Rev.)

May 26, 1931 - November 27, 2019

Sidney Maddock

Sid passed away peacefully at the Barrie Manor at the age of 88 after a long illness. Beloved husband of the late Joan “Joanni” (Cansfield), loving son of the late Louis and Ruby Maddock, and dear sister of Faye Ryckman (Lloyd). He was a proud father of Sandi Brissette (Gerald “Curly”), Jamie Maddock (Tammy), Jan Gillis (Blaise) and Steve Maddock (Siri). Has been a very proud grandfather of Nic Brissette (Tania), Katie Nolan (Dave), Connor, Sarah, Meghan, Aubrey and Kai Maddock. Sid has also been blessed with 4 great grandchildren; Ayla, Jace, Amelia and baby Oliver.

Sid was an Anglican Priest for over 50 years. The last of his churches were the parishes of Elmvale (Elmvale, Waverly, and Wyebridge) and St. Margarets of Scotland Barrie. Sid enjoyed his many roles as a mason and the community work he was involved with. Anyone who knew Sid knew that he loved Joanni first, he loved his kids and his heart belonged to Woodland Beach and when he had a chance to sneak out, a golf game would occur.

Sid left a lasting impression on all those he met, helped and loved.

Special thanks goes to the staff at Barrie Manor. You made the last five years happy ones for Sid. We can’t thank you enough.

Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the Church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. James 5:14.
